UP BY 66.1%, ANJ RECORDED A NET INCOME OF US$19.3 MILLION IN THE FIRST SEMESTER OF 2022

31 Jul 2022

Jakarta, 31 July 2022 – PT Austindo Nusantara Jaya Tbk (ANJ) announced its operational and financial performance for the first semester of 2022, which recorded a net profit of US$19.3 million, an increase of 66.1% compared to the same period in 2021.

The increase in ANJ's net profit was in line with the increase in revenue, where ANJ recorded a revenue of US$144.1 million, an increase of 19.7% compared to the same period in 2021. This was mainly due to the increase in the Average Selling Price (HJR) of Crude Palm Oil  (CPO) and Palm Kernel (PK).

In detail, ANJ's revenue was dominated by sales of CPO and PK with a contribution of 98.8% to the company's total revenue or US$142.3 million, compared to US$119.4 million or 99.2% in the same period in 2021.

Sago sales contributed US$845.9 thousand of total revenue in the first half of 2022, up by US$438.1 thousand compared to the same period in 2021, due to increased sales volume and price.

Meanwhile, revenue from edamame sales contributed US$657.1 thousand, an increase of 178.5% from US$235.9 thousand in the same period in 2021. The increase was due to a higher sales volume of fresh and frozen edamame and the selling price of frozen edamame. ANJ commenced commercial operations of frozen edamame products in Q3 2021.

The renewable energy segment contributed US$284.5 thousand, higher than the same period in 2021, which was US$277.3 thousand. This is due to higher electricity production at ANJ's biogas power plant compared to the same period in 2021.

“During the first five months of 2022, the trend of CPO prices continued to increase but began to decline due to the Indonesian Government's decision to impose a ban on exports of CPO and its derivatives to stabilize domestic cooking oil prices. We recorded an HJR for CPO of US$ 1,043/mt in the first half of 2022, 45.1% higher than the HJR for the same period in 2021, which was US$ 719/mt. Meanwhile, the HJR for PK in the first half of 2022 was US$ 777/mt, 57.0% higher than the same period in 2021, which was US$ 495/mt,” explained Lucas Kurniawan, President Director of ANJ.

Previously, at the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (AGMS) held on June 8, 2022, ANJ allocated 25% of its 2021 net profit or US$ 10 million as dividends. As approved at the Annual GMS for the 2021 Fiscal Year, every ANJ shareholder will receive a dividend of Rp. 43 per share.

ANJ is committed to being an agent of transformation in the application of environmental, social and good governance principles. In manifesting its ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) ambitions, ANJ implements several Responsible Development programs that are measurable and refer to the company's sustainable operational performance standards.

ANJ recently received the "Golden Champion in Corporate Social Responsibility Program" from the Bisnis Indonesia Corporate Social Responsibility Award (BISRA). This is the second award that ANJ won at the same event. In 2021, ANJ won "The Best Award for Volunteering Programs.”
