We have implemented comprehensive initiatives to mitigate food loss and optimize production within our ready-to-eat product segment. PT Gading Mas Indonesia Teguh (PT GMIT), our dedicated edamame business, has successfully reduced food loss by a significant percentage annually through sophisticated improvements in agricultural techniques, methodological refinements, and advanced production machinery.
Furthermore, we have enhanced our quality control parameters for sorting fresh produce. A sophisticated grading system has been developed to strategically categorize edamame production according to distinct market requirements. Products that do not meet export-grade standards are systematically allocated for domestic market distribution, including to “Kampung Edamame (Edamame Village) program as described below.
Our edamame business, operating through PT GMIT, is committed to continuously improving production efficiency. In collaboration with the local community, since 2021 we launched the innovative "Kampung Edamame" program, which has demonstrated remarkable outcomes, including substantial increases in sales and substantial reductions in food loss. This strategic initiative empowers local communities by providing opportunities to transform edamame into high-value-added products, thereby creating economic opportunities and promoting sustainable agricultural practices.
